Maintenance before mods! I'm thinking about going this route too getting a high mileage one

 

YEAH. I found a local guy who can do 60k service for me charging a reasonable price. Going to install some Kelfords cams while im at it.

I'll keep the guys updated who want to see a progression on a high mileage Evo 8.

Any suggestions while i have my head is expose for the timing belt/cam install. My budget is 6k at the very most, so we can kiss $1200 bye bye for the cams/60k maintenance labor and parts. Head studs valve springs maybe?????

 

head studs are great but the correct way would be removing the head and that won't be cheap...if you're going to keep it under 400whp I wouldn't risk the integrity of the stock seal...springs, retainers, valve guide seals etc are nice if you really need em and depending on your cams but tranny and maintenance first...if you were local I'd help you out but u r pretty far away lol...

 

ive seen someone close to 350,000 on the stock motor with mods

 

how do you know for sure it was original stock motor?

 

I Def want to see the specs on that 350z car
