Okay to the more educated people then me on here. My friend needs a new valve cover for his Evo 8. I have a spare valve cover but it is for a 9. is it possible to bolt these up..will it work at all?

it will bolt up, but on the intake side it has a gap for where the intake cam solenoid. See the pics for comparison.

STLEVOIX doesn't know what he's talking about. The 9 valve cover is slightly different due to the mivec. So no, it will not bolt right up and work.

Someone mentioned in another thread that there was someone on here that made it work once by doing some custom modding to it but I'm not 100% sure about that. Tell your buddy to just buy a new one or keep an eye on the FS section here for a used one.

 

9sec9 had a 9 valve cover on his old car with an 8 head... he had a spacer made that was the same size as the intake cam angle sensor housing...
