Question aem digital boost gauge not reading boost

HI guys, i had my Aem digital boost gauge installed. It is T'ed into the manifold to BOV line (i avoided the FPR line in case loose line doesnt cause lean engine and since 50% of the people use BOV with success). Long story short is it reads -20 vacuum at idle which is fine. but under boost it reads 0 and once in a while spike to 10 psi, but normally 0 or 5 psi. I connected it to ignition coil fuse so it does not auto reset on engine crank...so i dont know what is the problem. I also used a 120 psi bicycle pump and pumped to the boost gauge sensor and it seems to go to 30 psi fine.

Any ideas? btw the T'ed connection is already zip tied tightly and i dont think i have a bosot leak cuz the car seem to run fine.

Double check your vacuum line it might be pinched at some spot.

could it be a boost leak? i called a mechanic in my area (not a evo mech) but he said even if i had a small boost leak it would still show boost on the boost gauge and not be at 0 or 2 psi @5000 rpm. And if its a big leak then the car wont run and have error code so he suggest moving the T'eed hose into a different tap source. i havent done it yet but it seems that many people here have the tap from manifold to BoV line fine so its weird to not work there for me

Why are you asking and not performing this test?

Sounds like a boost leak somewhere, if vacuum is good i would bet it would be ic piping not fully clamped down somewhere. Any recent work?
