Evo 8 not reading coil pack..

Hey..

My Evo is misfiring under boost at high rpm..
My coil pack on the car are pretty much fried.. I purchased 2 different types of coil packs to sort out this problem, my car runs for 10secs then turns off everything and also gives me a engine light.. Has anyone had this problem and does anyone know how to fix it. My car is not reading any other coil pack other that the one in my car atm. When I put my old original pack in the car, it drive and runs smoothly except is misfires under boost as I mentioned earlier. Please help..

Thanks Adam.

Check the code being thrown first--take it to autozone or orielly's and they do it for free.
Put a new set of plugs in at the correct gap--say .022--no they are not pre gapped.
Check the coil harness at the plug to the rt side of the VC.
Good Luck

check fuel pressure as well. ohm the coils, check plug wires, see what the plugs look like. there are quite a few things it could be. maf sensor not reading right, etc. are you tuned? what setup are you running? checking codes would be a good start. good luck.
