Cams or Turbo? need mod advice

What would be the better mod for my car at this point considering i'm on a tight budget? CAMS (GSC stage1 or HKS 272's something that can work on stock springs) or a TURBO (affordable bolt on 20G or 25G) . Which one would you do if money was a factor and you can only do one at this moment?

Goal is to bring my 1/4 mile Et's down. at the moment my best is 12.8@106mph(NLshifting)but the car runs 13.0 consistently.I do get lots of wheel spin in 1st. The car is an EVO 5 . currently running stock cams and stock turbo td05hr16G6-10.5t.For some reason I cant achieve more than 20psi max on the turbo but boost does not drop off it holds till redline. Engine is a 2.3L w100mm crank and wiseco 9:1 85.5mm forged pistons. I run RC750cc injectors and a walbro255pump.FMIC and Piping Kit,HKS BOV, ECU Apexi Power Fc Ljetro. I have a RS final drive (4.785) and Exedy twin HD as well as LSD rear diff conversion. with these good supporting mods I expected better ET's.

Any advice tips would be appreciated.

100% no doubt a turbo upgrade. Especially if you are going "stage I" cams.

For instance, check my sig, I have stock cams, upgraded to a BBK turbo and picked up ~100hp.
I did a few other upgrades with the turbo but still on stock cams.
bang vs buck, turbo wins every time IMO if you buy it slightly used.

thank you guys .

I thought cams would've added 20-30whp potential with my current setup.
But wow a 100whp from a bolt on bbk is truly bang for buck.
Will definitely do turbo. Eventually will get both done but at the moment Drags are coming up soon and im on a budget.

Thank Again

HMMM few hundred at best for cams....used. BBK, no longer made at least 1k for something that works and my guess somewhat more. OP--so your on a budget and moneys tight, exactly what is you budget if these two are possibilities--- that would help a great deal.

I would have been inclined to say cams first but after reading he's on a stock turbo with a 2.3L I am going to have to say turbo as well.

did i miss a budget?
cams i recommend gsc s2, still works with stock springs just dont rev high, u have a 2.3 anyways.
like 450 plus install labor of 200-400, plus retune 300-500.

turbo- bbk full is what i really like (but couldnt find att), roughly 900-1200 used. plus retune 300-500, u might run out of injector.
another popular one is the FP green, i love the 71hta but i think it is too small for your build

so if u were able to find good deals, the turbo will be better for your motor as for best bang for buck. cams are great, but i got really annoyed of the lope.

Need cams to match turbo. You need to plan your build ahead of time.

I'm gonna put this way.install all available bolt ons on stock turbo. Stock turbos can make 500 whp on dyno jet and freakin run 10's.id put cams, then ported manifolds, etc.

Cams, have motor built slowly if your on a tight budget then last step you could upgrade turbo without worrying about anything. Motor will be able to handle power.

LOL i hope you are being sarcastic. anywho, if on a budget, i would do cams. IMO turbo is the last thing i would do after getting all the supporting mods in first.

my budget is $1200US MAX I know that's pretty low for You in the US. But in my country all car parts used or new is taxed 65% + another 15% VAT. Cars are taxed at 167.5% so things cost way more to have here than over there.

I can get some used cams in the used parts section for $275-$300.
HKS 272's, GSC s1's or BC272.

I've posted a Wanted post for a Kinugawa 25G or Arashi ER turbocharger Used or NEw or for a used JB red. An option as well would be to get this CHRA +Upgradekit and re-use my 10.5 housing on it just will have to get it machined for the td06sl2 http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/ki...r-20g-1-1.aspx

I need more power for the drags in JUNE, if I cant find a turbo in a week or 2 will have to go with the CAMS . I cant show up running 12.8 again , My competition R33 GTR did a 12.2 yesterday.
