Rear diff question

I removed my rear diff in my evo 9 and noticed the rubber ring that the axel meets the diff is ripped a little. Is this a big deal or will I have to get a new rubber piece to replace it with? If so where can I find it?
Thanks -Chris

Do you have a picture? If you're talking about the axle seal, I would replace it, because it could leak out your diff fluid. Several of your typical parts websites will carry it. Streettunedmotorsports.com, maperformance.com, extremepsi.com, oemmitsubishiparts.com, mitsubishiparts.net.

Why would you not replace what is likely a $2 part? Clearly the rubber piece serves a function, and is unlikely working at 100% in its "ripped" condition.
