⛔★ Evo 8 dies after letting off high throttle and clutch in

Hey guys my Evo 8 just started dying after I push it hard and then push in the clutch and hold it there. RPMs go way down to like 300-400 rpm and it dies. Does not die under just normal easy driving and idea perfect.

No mods other then intake. I also noticed lack of power after 5000rpm, almost like its not boosting right something and a get a P0134 code once in a while.

Make sure you recirculate the bov. I had the same problem on my old dsm. Do some research on the idle control motor. If you are loosing power too it could very well be a boost leak. That will cause a lot of problems including dying.

BOV is stock and recirculated. Only the intake is aftermarket which some people I guess say it could be the issue. I wish I had the stock intake pipe.

Because of the p0134 that I get sometimes it might actually be a boost leak. I need to figure out how to test it.

That code is thrown due to the pre-cat o2 sensor. Could easily be your problem right there. With the sensor not working correctly it's not getting the right fuel ratio, so that's prob why the car keeps dying on you.

I'm going to inspect everything for boost/vac leaks, if thats not it i'll just replace the O2 or take it out and test it first and see.

I did read that people tend to have a lot of problems when installing an aftermarket intake between the turbo and the filter.

I just tested all my piping upto 25psi and I only have a small leak on the TB seals, I guess a common Evo problem. Boost isn't big at all though.

FTONOOB how bad was your TB leak?

Did you check if the o2 was really dead? Snap throttle, propane in throttle? Did it respond? Evos have o2 or a/f sensors?

Just an update, trotted body seals were bad and leaky (not even horrible bad though). After replacement no more dying after pushing in the clutch after high acceleration.

Ok I did a boost leak test and all my piping from MAF to engine is perfect, not even a little leak.

Funny thing is now that is warmer outside, 50+ degrees the stalling stopped... I'm gonna try cleaning the MAF as it looks pretty dirty.
