Car stolen!! >:(

Hey guys. I don't really ever post much on the forums, but just wanted to sit here and rant a bit because I'm very pissed off. Anyways, parked my car last night here in NYC and next morning, I find that my car is no longer there. Called around to see if maybe my car was towed and still no sign of anything. At this point, I know the car is now stolen. I looked around and found one surveillance camera pointed in the direction where my car was sitting at and watched through as much as I could but didn't see anything before the cops came. Gave them the story of what happened and got it all reported. So later today, I went and watched the surveillance one more time and I saw the low lives that took her. Of course its more than one person because they have to watch out to make sure that there is no one around, but sure enough, it took the guy 4 minutes to get the car started and drove off with his other low life accomplices. So please, if ANYONE sees or notices parts being sold off my car, PLEASE let me know. I had quite a bit of stuff inside, including my child's belongings which is very upsetting. All I did was come to visit as I'm from VA and these people left us pretty much hanging here with no way of getting back home other than taking public transportation, which is a pain to deal with, especially when your child is less than a year old. I'm really hoping the cops can find these bastards and put them in jail where they belong, but I'm sure all they will get is just a slap on the wrist and stay in jail for a short time frame. Anyways, I'm hoping someone will be able to help out because this is just very upsetting by taking someones car and leaving them dry with nothing. Here are some pics of how the car is so people can see what it looks like. Car is originally white colored, but has been plastidipped blue. Oh and it does have a spoiler, but in the pic, I had it removed.

And in case this makes any type of a difference, my VIN # is JA3AH86C46U044998.

Thanks bro. I'm hoping the same thing myself. But only having one 7ft dude is letting him off too easy in my opinion. I think he needs about 4-5 dudes and that might just be enough. Lol. But who knows. People like that probably have taken enough up the *** that they are used to it anyways. That's probably why they go out there to steal other peoples stuff because they think they are just all that. We will see what happens. Karma is a ***** though and I hope they get what's coming to them. My biggest thing is my child's stuff. Car is one thing but I have quite a few sentimental values in there that can never be replaced. Sucks

Well so far, the surveillance camera shows that there was a minivan waiting and I think he called it in to his butt buddy bro because I saw some sort of SUV type rolling in real quick behind the minivan and sat there until things started to settle down with people walking by. Then a few min later, I saw my cars lights flashing so I assume the alarm was going off and the guy was probably cutting cables because it stopped after a bit. Then the minivan left and a few more min, the SUV. Right after that, my car rolled out and took off. Bastards. Couldn't be man enough to do it on his own. I guess pussies like that need their butt buddies to look out. So now it's just a matter of zooming into the video and getting license plates. Hopefully it's enough to find these bastards and put them away for good. I'm sure this was not their first offense in any way.

OP, I'm terribly sorry. It sucks the best case scenario is that you get your car back with a theft title...
But I do hope you find the EVO, and let us know if you do.

With this said, this a learning opportunity for everyone who has an EVO to install a aftermarket alarm system on their car, especially if you live in big cities.

Really sorry about your Evo and about your child's stuff. Getting my car stolen is literally one of my biggest fears- hope they find the bastards. Where exactly in NY were you?

Thanks. I really appreciate everyone's concern. But as far as the alarm system goes, I do have an aftermarket alarm. Even have a few upgrades on the alarm on top of that, like backup battery, tilt sensor, etc. Whoever took my car knew exactly what they were doing so I know this was not their first time. I'm sure this bastard took many Evos already. On the video, literally 4 min flat and he took the car. That's why next time, in going even further with window security film and some sort of gps tracking to make sure that the next guy that tries will have a hell of a time and won't be so lucky as he will be in the hospital next time around.

Oh and the car got stolen in Brooklyn, NY, but I am almost certain this guy is gonna take it much further away so he won't get caught. So that's why if anyone sees anything suspicious, I would be greatly appreciative if someone would notify me right away.

No, power tools make quick work of any of those types of systems. Really the only good defense here is a hidden kill switch mechanism, and even then if they really want it, they can bring in a tow truck.
