Hey, I'm debating on what cam gear i should go for on my Evo 9 Mivec with GSC s2's. Are there any other options of me getting other cams other than the HKS ones?
I tried looking around, but many people only have opinions for the Evo 8 cams rather than the evo 9.

Care to help?
That's because the IX has MIVEC which requires a "MIVEC" intake cam gear. No one makes a replacement for it. The only thing you would be able to do is replace the exhaust cam gear. Not worth it IMO, spend your money elsewhere
It depends on what your preferences are…
Function over looks?
The Tomei Cam gear is very popular amongst EVOs…
the advantages of the tomei gear over the HKS you mentioned are:
*Tomei gear are pretty easy to obtain, they're fairly well produced.
*They are significantly cheaper than the HKS from memory.
*The Tomei have not had any negative feedback of chewing through OEM timing belts, where as with the HKS, it has been documented to have happened.
*The Tomei has x5 bolts to hold its position, where the HKS only has x3.
However, IMO, the anodised Purple colour of the HKS gear is pretty hard to beat. it would definately look more attractive in a clear cam cover than the anodised red of the Tomei.
yes, as ekobz mentioned, the Mivec, you only need to buy 1 cam gear.
