Any lightweight alternatives to front bumper support?
Any lightweight alternatives to front bumper support?
The STM bar is too expensive and heavy at 6 lbs. Yes I said too heavy, I don't care if it's crazy. I'm holding 6 lbs right now and I don't want that on the nose of my car, not after I already ditched the A/C.
I got really bad bumper sag, and the OEM replacement clips and pieces are not helping. My ziptie spiderweb didn't work either.
So, any other fabrication ideas or examples?

- Aluminum front bumper support beam?
- Foam blocks on top of the intercooler? Could that damage the intercooler or it's mounting points?
- Upsidedown L shaped brackets on both sides to provide some support?
- Twin-latch bumper quick release? I figure two latches may help keep things straight.
Well it's ghetto as **** but here's what I got. Improved the bumper gap quite a bit. Just L shaped brackets from Home Depot, holes drilled by eye. Glued some rubber squares up top.
I'll probably get the STM beam later, but for now this will do.
