New Owner checking in.

Hey everyone,

I am Jon, I just finally bought a base evo 9 with high miles and a few mods. it was probably a bad choice, but it's a 1 owner, and clean title. it was the right time to buy.

here are a couple of pictures, first thing is to get rid of the stance look and raise it with some proper fitting wheels and wide tires. and get full fluid change and take for long drive.

Thanks, the look of wheels are growing on me, but I am not a fan of the 15mm offset and stretched tires. I am going to fix that next week.
as for mods, I am still learning what they are, I have only had it a day, and I am already chasing codes. and doing my research.

Yea the wheels are a popular choice on evos , but like you said the offset and stretch is not my thing either , looks to me tho as its lowered , aftermarket mishimoto inter cooler , Cusco front brace I can see thru the grill . You say chasing codes are you meaning you have a CEL light on and your scanning codes ?

Yes Chasing codes from scanning this morning, the light came on last night, and I wanted to see what they where before I cleared them.
here are the codes.
P0171 Bank 1 System too lean
P0134 O2 Sensor circuit no activity Bank 1
P0335 Crankshaft position sensor circuit malfunction

and it seems to run great, but there is an erratic idle, dips to 500rpm to 1500rpm. never seems to settle.

So yeah, I am enjoying my evo!

The erratic idle could be due to the o2 sensor being bad , my old car had idle surge and it was a bad front o2 , your crankshaft position sensor If there is issue with that id definitely get that checked out and your bank 1 system being to lean sounds like you might have a crappy tune or a faulty part casing it to run lean , not an expert but those things should be checked out , sounds like why maybe they sold it but not sure

Well I finally got some new wheels, I am still not quite how I feel about them, but next month I will have funds to up grade them if I still want a change.
Now that is has proper wheels and 245 tires on it. next it take is the ride height, and alignment, take out some of the camber. and maintenance

Here are pictures of the new wheels.

Now a shot of the engine bay, does something seem off with the BOV? and I am getting a full service done in a couple of weeks as well. Let me know what you think.

Love the look of these rims so much better! I have the same issue with my new IX also, came with coilovers installed on it, but the owner included the OEM suspension so ill be swapping that out next week also. Looks like a very clean 9 man congrats.
