Engine problems would be my guess. Walk up with $10g in cash and see what they say.

 

Yeah. Probably blown motor. I broke a rod and it took out my head and turbo with it. If something like that happens it's a big expense to fix. You don't have a core for anything and need a block, head, and turbo. I'm building everything so going the expensive route but even the cheap route is probably 4k.

 

Notice they left the sunroof cracked. wtf? over.

Without even knowing the specifics of the car....7-8k tops. As was mentioned it probably needs a motor.

Good call checking Google Maps. Someone really should go offer them a couple grand for it if they have a good title. Might even be a low mileage clean CarFax car that would be huge profit if you just put a stock motor in it and cleaned it up.

 

I wouldn't mind working on it at all!

There are evo 8 longblocks on ebay for about $3500.

A good weekend to swap the engine, change all fluids, vacuum, wash her, and re-inflate the tires is probably all she needs to be running again. Even if the transfer case whines or tranny grinds, she will be moving.

Would definitely be interested if this was in San Diego, but if it was in San Diego it would be gone by now.

Whoever buys this, please post a build thread !

I see this car all the time. I thought the owner worked at that gas station. It's been there forever!
