Twenty years ago I was on the F-body forum where someone posted engine damage pictures taken after a Fram oil filter had disgorged its contents into the oil galleries. Now this was on a drag car so not typical use. Still, every time I stand in front of the Fram merchandise display that picture pops into my head.

Another thing that bugs me about Fram, and other companies do this too, but Fram takes it to extreme, is having a whole line of filters of various qualities. I say, if in the filter business, make a good one and get rid of the rest. At most have two grades that are easily identifiable. I don't want to poke around on store shelves reading boxes trying to figure out what they are selling.
