i find that if i shift slightly early and flick the clutch right up to the catch point and feed gas at the same time, i get a real nice kick into the next gear, no clutch burn, ....this technique has taken me months to get good at, this is a fairly precise automobile

turbo dan lmao, yeah 95 fire sucks *****!!!!!!!!!!! I am near home depot in fairfield ~ 1/2 mile off 95 and my evo can't go past 20 mph this weekend due to traffic, so I used my company car aka the blue whale or 2004 dodge intrepid, also a blazing fast car. This area is usually congested, but now it is insane. Btw, where are you located, we should meet up sometime at pruven to show off evos. l8r.

I know what you mean by awd feeling slower, my buddies 91 eclipse gsx used to run a 12.8@106 when I ran 13.4@106(at the time I hated awd because I had a fwd and was jealous of launch capabilities) anyway, his car felt slower than mine yet when racing from a roll it was dead locket till about 115 or 120 when I would start to pull him ( don't ask, I was young and dumb and in college).

About an hour and 15 minutes north of Pruven, almost to the mass line, off of 84.Was going to go down there either next week or the week after and meet up with Al to do some testing/tuning
on my car,but it looks like when Al gets back in the state he is going to be pissed, because from Stamford it's going to be like a 3 hour ride for him to get to Pruven.Pm me

how much horsepower with a bone stock evo( paper filter and stock exhaust) would a dynoflash give me? would an afc do better? I like the idea of the dynoflash but also know you have to get re-flashed if you mod it more, hhmmmmmmm decisions, decisions!

i believe a dynoflash will yield higher #'s than a afc with those mods, a dynoflash is a complete remap of your ecu, an afc is only remapping the air/fuel ratio as far as i know

Your going to get a lot more power with the flash than an AFC... esp. torque. If you have Al (or whoever you use) leave the rev limit stock (which I wouldn't), there will be no way for the $tealership to know anything is any different... I'm at over 19k miles with nothing more than a flash myself.

1) I watched a stock Evo (k&n drop in only) put down 260hp and 270tq at the wheels on a Dynapack with Al's dynoflash tuning. That's compared to stock #s on dynapack which are like 220whp. Huge gains, even stock.

2) If you get flashed in person (@ pruven) I'm pretty sure Al gives you a free Mail-in Flash later if you upgrade stuff.

$$$ to power, nothing comes close. I can't believe how much faster my car is (and feels) now.

If your Eclipse ran 106mph in the 1/4, then the reason it felt faster than your Evo is because it IS faster than your Evo.

I dont think its a fixed mile mark. You should just slowly open her up more and more as mileage gets higher. I wouldn't recomend going full throttle until at least 750 miles and wouldn't recomend taking it full throttle to redline until at least 1000 miles. after the first oil change (aprox. 3000 miles) I say going all out should be fine.
