Scratched aluminum underpanel (Beatrush) after bottoming out, anything to protect it?
I may be being a little over the top, but I wanted to see if there is anything for me to protect my Beatrush underpanel after I "bottom-out" on the road and scratched it up a little.
I've read that it will corrode on the surface which will then act as a sealent to protect it from deep corrosion, but I was wondering if I could avoid the surface corrosion by coating it in something?
This February we got 18 inches of wet snow. It was so dense the street department couldn't move it to clean the streets and we had to drive on it big drifts and all. After a few days of that the Beatrush underpanel looked like it had been vacuum formed to the underside of the car.
I've had the Beatrush almost since when the car was new (12 years) and the only corrosion I'm experiencing is the fastener's internal hex increasing in size due to rust to the point where the driver no longer fits. I need new fasteners.
