Intercooler upgrade?

My car currently has bolt ons and in the next month, I plan on finishing the rest of the bolt ons minus the uicp and i'm debating if i should upgrade the intercooler as well. I currently don't have the funds to get the intercooler or the cams yet. I was going to upgrade the turbo next month too, along with the 02 housing and the lower pipe, should i try to get the intercooler as well? I plan to stop after i upgrade the turbo and forget the intercooler and the cams and work on getting coilovers because I don't want to push too much power off the motor. I know usually the best time to upgrade the intercooler is when you upgrade the turbo and the turbo i'm looking to get is either the fp green or the hks gt2 one. I do live in a place where summer is high 80's to 103 degrees. Would the stock one heat soak a lot if i upgrade the turbo without an intercooler? Anyone has an upgraded turbo with stock intercooler that can share their experience with it? My car is also on E85 if that matters. Thank you!

For sure you will need an upgraded intercooler w/the mods you have planned.

Sure you can run w/out it but if pushed hard enough, on that hot day, the intercooler will heat soak & performance & air intake temps will degrade quickly (not healthy for the motor)

I would not upgrade the turbo w/out all the supporting mods in place including the short route IC pipes (maximize all the potential)

Not to mention, tuning costs. Tune it once w/all mods. Changing any of the intake bits will require another tuning session

At minimum go with a 4" intercooler. It will leave you enough to upgrade to a bigger turbo and more power with less heatsoak. Kind of wish I did this instead of going with a 3.5". $800 later and upgraded to a 5" smh
