planning on getting 2006 evo as daily
interested in an evo I found would end up being a daily. what do you guys think?
would only be driving around 5 miles Monday-Friday as I work on base.
would a tune be recommended to make it easier as a daily?
here are the specs:
2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
76k on body 6k on Evolution Dynamics built 2.0
High compression 10.1 CP pistons
Kelford 272 cams
Double pumper 255
2150 cc injectors
Exedy triple
Tial BOV
Shepard built 5 speed
AMS F1 intake manifold
ETS forward facing 6466
M&H drag radials
CF Dunlop trunk
Jdm rear bumper
Evo 7 tail lights
Fortune auto 500 coilovers
Car makes roughly 700whp at 35 psi

Ok, normally that's not a car to daily drive, but considering your short distance to work you might be able to get away with it. Don't let it be your only car or you'll regret it.

I actually say the opposite, that's not enough time/distance for the evo to be properly warmed up and driven.
in general, I've got a really mild evo and I hate dailying it. I don't fool around on the street or anything though, so it'd driven like a corolla to and from work. so I daily a corolla.

You have to like that specific power band, etc. If you can rev the crap out the car and really wind it out, you will have a lot of fun. Otherwise that sucker is going to be a bit on the laggy/peaky side.
It's all preference, really.
IMO, cars like that take away what makes an Evo fun, but that's just me. I.E. a Camaro will make that power with less lag and maintenance (since the car is now focused on straigt-line performance). LOL
You're looking at quite a bit of work to daily the car, but if you're good with it, then i say "why not?".
