car seems to be running very warm and fans are on alot, u cant touch the radiator or engine cover due to the heat.
had one of the pipes off and the olour of the water was like a light brown colour so I ran loads of water threw system and cleaned it abit better.
its a evo 6 engine.
the temp guage in the car seems to be bouncing about aswell.
any help please.

 

check coolant level first.

 

Coolant level if fine mate. I have took off thermostat and it moves fine with pressure but not when i put it in a bowl of boiling hot water. So need a new thermostat. Iam currently running with out one. Should i be ok with out it? And is it worth while getting a colder running thermo?

You need to run a thermostate. Too many potential issues not to run the stock thermo (water cavitation, engine heat parameters etc)
