Idle Control valve issue EVO 8

Has anyone change the IAC Valve? i just wondering what's the different in between those 2 valves, my car came out the one has the o-ring, but STM and other sell the other style, so when i have it replace it with the STM style didn't work right.

left one with the rubber sleeve over the actuator machanism is for an evo 8, right one with the exposed spring is for an evo 9

the o-ring pictured is not optional, it's mandatory. the IACV's i've seen all come with one, but if they dont then make sure to re-use the one from the existing IACV that's in the car

That make sense, but STM has the same valve for evo 8 and evo 9

YES, if you can, pick up the evo IX IAC...it will last longer. I've replaced 2 IACs (left pic) on my evo VIII and then finally came across one for a IX and installed it...(pic on the right). It has been a few years and the IX IAC is still going strong.

I am also needing to replace a faulty IACV on my VIII. If I order the EVO 9 style IACV (ie picture on the right) does anyone know what the part number is for the o-ring?Would like to order this as well...
