CDI M&W pro 14 issue

I have a CDI M&W Pro 14 on my evo that was a DIY have issue with misfire, I think it might be wired wrong. off my Evo wire harness their are 3 wires on each harness. Only 2 of the three wires are being used....Is this how it is supposed to be or does all three of the wires need to be used, and if so where do they go.....Thanks in advanced for any help

definitely need all three wires...

one is +12v, one is ground, and the other is a pulse signal. if you're only using two wires i'm surprised the car even runs

I have both +12v connected to the single power wire coming off M&W and the trigger wires connected to the pulse signal wire. I did not use the ground wire since the M&W has its own ground. Do you think I should run the ground wire off the car's wire harness to the ground off the M&W or just ground it somewhere in the firewall?

Oh, sorry. misread the CDI as COP

I'm not sure on CDI. I know there will be only two wires from the CDI box to each coil, but I'm not sure if all three are connected to the CdI control box still or what

Looking at the link you sent, the +12v and Pulse wires are still connect to the CDI box, the ground wire is the missing one (the ground wire is the middle wire on the Evo coil connector). I'm guessing the CDI box has it's own dedicated ground, thus doesn't need the factory harness ground.
