Twin plate clutch scraping noise when driving (pls help)
hi I just install my orc twin disc clutch, it rattle very loud when I'm driving at 1500-2000 rpm, sounds like metal scraping, and clutch is engaged (foot off the clutch), I know the twin plate clutch is only have rattle noise when disengaged, but mine is when disengage it have the rattle noise which is normal, but when I'm driving at 1500-2000 the metal scrapping noise appear, I'm so worry about this noise sounds like I'm damaging the car, can someone help please.
here's a video I took, I was in 3 gear, as you can hear noise is sounds like something scrapping together. Sounds terrible
did you just hear the noise when the car is stationary and press the clutch in? Or the noise appear when you are driving in gear ?

If I were you I'd be pissed. That isn't a normal sound it sounds like you said the clutch is dragging. It sounds like they didn't re adjust the clutch height in the petal or they reused a plate spacer that was warped or something. It is like the resurfaced the flywheel but didn't surface the other plates or something and its grinding on the clutch pads.

But if the dealer is close to you it certainly would not hurt to just stop by and have them double check the adjustment. If it will give you peace of mind then the trip will be well worth it.
so what should I tell them when I bring it back to them? I don't think they'll drop the transmission down to check it. Not sure if they adjust the petal but all gear shifted just fine, just sometimes hard to get into reverse but if I go back to natural then put reverse again then it's fine.
This sounds like the normal noise associated with having a twin disc. You were in gear allowing the engine to slow the car down, in gear decel my QM always made a lot of chatter. My QM was loud, but that is the name of the game. Driving an Evo with a twin disc will at first make you paranoid but you will get used to the noises they make and they will become normal.

I remember when I first started the break in on my qm twin it didn't make a noise. 700 miles after install it started the unusual(normal) noise everyone else hears with this clutch. Not families with the clutch you installed.
