Back at it again... only this time with a IX

For those who don't know I used to have an Evo X. It got hit by a DUI driver while it was parked on the street early December. My insurance determined it a total loss. Repair costs were around 24k. I was heartbroken.

I had a feeling that my insurance wasn't going to repair it and I absolutely wouldn't accept the car if they tried. So the search went on for my next ride. I was thinking of trying a new platform like the 996 turbo or E92 M3 but I had no luck finding a decent 996 and thought the M3 was too boring.

So I decided to get another Evo.

Why?! Because I love how well they respond to basic bolt ons and tune. The potential on these machines is pretty amazing. Plus I love how they look.

The search went on and on. Almost all were modded. Some claimed to be "stock" but those were MRs with the paddle shifters.

After searching every day for countless hours I came across a clean, adult owned and stock Evo 9 GSR.

I quickly contacted the seller and scheduled a meet with him. After test driving the car I knew why so many out there hold the 4G63 so up high. This car felt right. Clean interior and exterior. Seating position is great (I'm only 5'7). I asked if we could take it to a shop that I trust (5150 Racing) to perform a compression test and full inspection and the seller agreed. Motor & tranny are healthy and basically got the green light on this deal.

So on Friday the 13th I pulled the trigger on this great deal. Purchased the evo for 19k with 81k original miles. Super stoked

Thanks! I thought the Recaros on the IX weren't going to be as snugged as the X seats but I was wrong. These seats really do hug you well. This cars feels small because it is smaller than the X but it feels right. The driving experience on the IX is better. My old X had more power because of the mods and e85 but that'll change very very soon.

I have found my IX to be very, VERY competitive with 350-450whp. It doesn't really need much unless you are into drag racing.
