500HP Goal

Hi,

I am curious on what I should go for to make my goal of 500HP on pump! =) Right now my car is getting a BR 2.3L put into it.

The car has:
- EVO 9 turbo
- Comp 272 camshafts
- Full 3 in exhaust
- 255 Walboro
- 1000cc injectors

It's running on speed density.

Now, I know to get gains I'll definitely want to focus on my fuel system and definitely a turbo upgrade.

I was thinking going BR double pumper, and maybe 1700-1900cc injectors (somewhere in that range), but I'm not entirely sure on the turbo.

I would go E85, but in New Jersey E85 gas stations aren't easy to come by (closest one to me is 45 mins away...ain't about that).

I want to get a turbo that can spool quick and meet my HP expectations. I was looking towards a FP Black, but not sure if that does the trick?

Anybody have any suggestions?

I'm sorta newish to the Mitsubishi build stuff, so be light! Trying to learn a lot about the beautiful platform =).

Hope to hear some great suggestions!

What fuel 93?
Fp red
Dont need a double pumper, rewired 450 with -6 feed line and 9/64 siphon mod. A 255 will support 500 on e85.

Fuel injector clinic 1450.

Yeah 93 oct.

Does the FP red hit boost earlier than the black/green? Not really sure about turbos as I'm newer to the game lol.

I always wanted to go PT, but I think that's overkill for what I want.

I have a fp red stainless steel and hit full boost by 4800 rpm or so.

You can get a fp red twin scroll mhi and lower that by about 500 rpm.

Fp red ss single scroll.
84mm compressor cover
External tial wastegate.

Sounds good =).

I'll see if anyone else has other ways of achieving my goal, but so far this sounds like the winner!

I love hitting full boost @ lower RPM. Makes it feel good

Or you can put in a 6266 and make less torque down low and hit full boost like at 5500-6000 rpm.

Fp turbos a good products. Im sure the argument might be red green or black.

Ahhh, I would like that if I was aiming for a higher HP goal. I'll be fine with 500HP =P, it's going to be a DD still lol. I don't want any super high crazy HP goals for now.

If I ever get another car, maybe this will become a high HP car, but as of now she will be a DD.

Do you have any links, charts, etc. that show a 255 Walbro make 500whp on e85? I'm just curious. 'Never seen it. All the ones I've dealt with topped out at 450-460whp, with the relief valve punched in a bit.

Friend recommended getting a PT6266 gen2, would that be overkill? I know it'd spool at a lot higher rpm, but would that be overkill for my goals?

Is pump gas for you 93?
you can easily do that on a stock-frame turbo. Bolts right up.
Unfortunately, 500 is the magic number where things get a little complicated. You have to start doing things like upgrading your fuel system, running larger cams, etc. you will also be shifting the power bands to the right. On pump gas it may be a little on the laggy side, depending on your preference.
If you like your power to be on the peaky side, then it's no big deal. I know quite a few people that like that big rush on the top end.

My 255 topped out around 440whp. I can't remember the boost/rpm but it was with a MAP EF4.

Yeah, pump for me is 93 oct.

Would going PT6266 gen2 be overkill? Friend of mine said it would easy to get that HP goal, but I feel like that would be the perfect turbo to hit 650-750 range, lol. I honestly am thinking about just going FP red or black depending on what might fit my liking more.

I was planning on upgrading my 255 to something bigger, and then my 1000cc injectors to something larger as well.
