Make sure Ignition is powering up. Blown fuse on ignition circuit?
Fastest way to check is at the main harness at the key cylinder, there are 2 ignition wires. I forget what colors they are look it up, make sure they both have power when the key is in the ignition position.

Ignition 1 is Black/white

the ecu does not power the fuel pump until it gets a crank signal.

The pump should prime in the ON position.

I don't know about an evo 6, but on an evo 9 it will not.

Apologies, so Evo 9 uses crank signal to power the pump?
Same for Evo 8?

Yes. Sorta. The ECU checks for continuity in the sensor. I.E. if you unplug the crank sensor, it will turn over but have no fuel.

the ecu does not activate the fuel pump circuit until it receives a crank signal. Its this way on the 8 and 9, and I would assume the 7. If i had to guess, I would say its probably a safety feature. I did a lot of testing on this while reverse engineering the circuitry in the ecu that controls the fuel pump.
