thanks. let me know. BTW, I'm looking for the pre-cut DIY ones.. I only mention this because when I went to a place which carries them, they said they were waiting for their source to make a pattern for the Evo.

How difficult is this to install and how does it look under direct sunlight, or even better HPS lights (like dealerships)? Can you tell there is a film, and where it stops and starts, or does it blend so well you can't tell?

Sorry, never really seen this before, and I'm curious.

Thanks!

its a pain in the *** to install unless you know what your doing, has to be stretched and formed to fit, i watched them install the whole front end kit on my car, took 2 professional installers hours.

well, for the headlights (the subject of this thread) I imagine it wouldnt be too hard to install. Not too many compound curves (read none). Unless the thing stretches to cover the sides as well? Anyhoo.. thanks for the info!! I heard from a friend who has it on his s2000 that when it rains, it gets slightly foggy looking cuz the moisture gets behind the film. But it doesnt bother him at all. Better than paying a ****eload for new headlights.

you know what.. i just checked weathertech.. they now have the Evo ones precut 40mil thick (same as rockblocker) for $45. $7 s/h. Beats the $69 for xpel. Doesnt say anything about a warranty.. but I think it will do the same job. Since they're here in IL, I dont pay s/h, just tax. just FYI...

There are a couple of different companies on Ebay selling them, pre-cut for the EVO. Putting them on wasnt too bad, about an hour..............

Installation issue

Installation was pretty easy. It gets a bit difficult when you try to put it over the curved part of the headlamp. The worst thing that can happen is you have small air bubble trapped under the film.

As far as looks, you can't tell its there from afar. Close up with lights on, you can see blue color around the clear film's edge since its thick and the light is radiating horizontally. Its a small investment to keep the lights clear from stone chips.

I have the Avery stoneshield on my car, covering the bumper, headlights, front part of hood and fenders. It is very clear, can only see where it stops, and that is if you are close. I am very happy with it. It is computer cut, fits perfectly. The installers did great job. I had Tint Specialist in SLC, UT install it, out the door for 450.

The headlights are very easy to install and take about 15 minutes. $58 is a lot when you can get twice as thick as those for $42.

I had an Invisiguard clear bra installed just today. Very well done. Doesn't discolor the front end of my silver Evo, but you can see the line across the hoodl though only very close and under lights. The headlights are 7 times thicker that the paint portions. It still looks a bit bubbly, but it's not dry yet. This I understand, being a window tinter myself.
