Can I replace mani > turbo gasket without removing turbo or elbow?

Hi everyone. Is it possible to remove the manifold to replace manifold to turbo gasket without removing the turbo or undoing the elbow? Long story short, my turbo studs on the elbow side are screwed and it was blowing. I managed to get that side sealed but in the process got a leak on the mani to turbo side. I'm going to replace the turbo etc at some point so don't want to put much money or effort into sorting this small leak so I was wondering if I can possibly get the manifold off to replace the gasket without messing with the elbow > turbo gasket? To make it even more complicated, I've got a custom exhaust so the elbow and DP is one piece which will restrict movement on that side even more I guess

Thanks

Yes, Pain in the ****, but doable. Drop the Down Pipe. Unbolt manifold. Push down on Turbo, and you should be able to clear. Good luck.

So you think without undoing anything the exhaust side of the turbo, I should still have enough wiggle room to get it off?

Yup, do it all the time. UNBOLT DOWNPIPE. Might have to drop the first cross bar under the downpipe too...

The exhaust is a custom 2 piece system and the join is past the 2nd crossbar, so i'm not sure how much wiggle room there will be. Another thought I had was removing the turbo to manifold studs? They're nackered anyway so maybe getting them out is a good idea

You kind of answered your own questions.

Drop both crossbars, and you can drop the turbo, downpipe, etc to the floor.

Unbolt Turbo from Manifold, and it will be able to drop.

Unbolt Manifold from head, and wualla, your done.

R&R of course.
