I don't think the issue is about how long it should take to pull engine , machine work, re assembly of the engine , and re-install the engine, the fact in the matter is it just sits at the shop and just doesn't get worked on. Like other people that have posted , it's that most of these shops have more cars and builds then they can handle at once which is BS !! I think I could deal with 3 months if I knew that in advance I was told that, but I had my engine built recently and waited almost a year by a very reputable guy on these forums. He did a great job with the build but it took far too long , it was hard to get a hold of him at times, and worst was seeing other builds and work being completed before mine when my car was there first. To make matters worse I was given my car back with a tune that would knock randomly and a few dings I didn't have when I brought the car there. Well lesson learned on my part. Good luck to the OP, hopefully you get this resolved and get your car back soon!

Yup, I've seen it all too often on here. I figured, it def makes you despise thinking about or even the sight of the car any more.

Unfortunate. Been there.

It's the reason I try to do everything I can on the car myself anymore but sucks when time and space constraints don't allow for it.

Just the fact that the car has been garage kept its entire life and now it's sitting outside collecting god know what would kill me also. I wish you the best of luck and just know that there are shops and folks in the country that absolutely can get the car back to you 100% in a realistic time frame should you decide to cut your losses and move on from this experience without burning the thing to the ground

Cause once you get rid of it, 6 months on you'll see one on the road or in parking lot and regret ever doing so badly.

Our shop never left cars outside for more than a day or two. If it were a long-term project, no WAY would the car sit outside. That's irresponsible.
Nobody expects same-day service.. but I was in talks with a guy on this forum that has a very good reputation. I wanted him to build an engine for me. His email replies were so far in between, I couldn't bring myself to have him do the work. If it takes three weeks to reply to my email, how long is it going to take to get my engine done? Even playing devil's advocate, I could think he's too busy building engines to answer emails.... but...
If there's a problem, a question, etc... I don't want to have to wait weeks to hear back. I ended up going another route. He was pretty pissed that i bailed on him, but what do you expect when it takes a month just to work out the details?

I also hinted several times I'm not OK with the car being left outside for long periods. That it's very low miles w/orginal paint..
I'd find all of this forgivable if it weren't for the constantly moving deadline. When we originally spoke we set a loose deadline for mid/end of December. It is now 3months past that. I even made plans for Tx2K based on his timeline (IE several non-refundable reservations) and now I'm pretty confident the car won't be done by then.
I also recently found out they are moving to a new location very soon...I pretty much have in mind that if the car isn't done by Tx2K I'm gonna get a refund from him for everything that hasn't been done yet. Then have another shop come and take it.

1. you ****ed up big time when you paid them. they have no motivation to finish your car now because they have your money

2. get your money back and take the car elsewhere. go talk to a lawyer in your area for advice. shop clearly doesn't care about you, why are you leaving the car there?

Disclose the shop, invite them to this thread, let them try to explain themselves.
You can't be upset at the car being outside if you only "hinted" that you dont like that. Get stuff in writing.
Take your car to another shop.
Good luck.

I agree with getting your money back and taking it elsewhere.
Square up with the work they've done and move on. Shops dislike finishing other shop's work, but they will do it and in a reasonable time frame.

Here's my hunch. They've planned on moving to a nicer shop for awhile now. So I'm thinking they've been taking every job they can get their hands on regardless of how long it'll take to finish, for the sake of building capital via any upfront payments. Then putting all but the smallest jobs on the backburner.

Again this is just a guess, but this all i'm left with at this point....guesses.

That would suck. But it's possible.

so just a little input on the situation...

I sold the car to DataEngr_bro some time ago and from what i can tell... he is about as honest and understanding a guy as you will ever run across.

I would do business with him again in a heartbeat... and it just plain sucks he is getting jerked around like this.

I always thought Evolution Dynamics was a good shop.... ???? What the heck is going on down there???

Personally, I have no patients for this Bull**** shops pull sometimes. Especially if I've paid up front for most of the build I would expect at the most a couple weeks up and down additional time from what we agreed on. If that isn't met than that's when I start taking matters into my own hands and start letting my connections know so they go and have some kind words with the shop first before it gets more serious.

I don't like when shops take advantage of you and lie to you. They shouldn't take on more evos than they can handle.
