Looking at this EVO 8 MR - thoughts?

https://www.carsales.com.au/private/...-4502499/?Cr=4

Want to know what you guys think this car is worth and how it looks judging by the link, probably going to go out and check it out this weekend, one of the more cleaner looking evos on the market atm for me here in sydney, australia.
im trying to make my budget 25k, so hoping to negotiate the price a little but want to know what you guys truly think its worth, and if 25k is a fair price, keeping in mind im going to have to spend another 3k or so on rego/insurance in a couple of months when it comes out if i was to purchase it.

i have a mechanic ill be taking it to that specialises in evos and they will be doing a pre-purchase inspection for me. (meek autmotive) for any of you that are aware

cheers guys

problem is we don't know what the car market in AU is like

with 55k miles (90k km) and just a few mods from the pictures, i wouldn't be surprised if someone in the USA was asking 25k for the car or if a dealership was asking 28k for it. its asking price will definitely be near the top of the price range, but not sure what that is in AU

i'd say in the US it wouldn't be hard to get 22-23k for that car and you might be able to squeeze 24-25k from the right buyer

Personally look around for others selling atm, have seen a few 8mr's come up recently (I'm in SA) otherwise go with how your report from MEEK is as they know their evo's and just judge the car on how it looks and feels etc.

the market here in sydney seems to be 25-30k for the 8mrs, or you have a couple that are more heavily modded with a little lower ks closer to the 35k mark.

so are you saying its probably a better decsion getting one like this rather than one that has been heavily modded?

yeah i have had a look on carsales/gumtree at pretty much all 8mr's for sale, if i can get this down to 25k then i think that would be a pretty good price, its pretty much the absolute lowest price they are advertised for...the cleaner looking ones anyway
just gotta keep in mind tho i have been looking at this car for a while and ever since i saw it for the fist time the guy had it up for like 33k, so he has already dropped quite abit...just hoping he is still negotiable because im really trying to make my budget 25k max.

im chatting to the guy and he has advised me theres no issues at all. normal wear on pads, rotors and clutch but they have all been replaced.
he has advised me only thing ill need to do is the timing belt at 100 xxx kms (another 10 000kms) ... he has already done the accessory belts and coolant as well
does anyone know how much im looking at roughly for that?
with the amount il be driving the car it should take me some time to do 10 000ks, so it wont be something i have to do straight away.
it does sound as if this guy has looked after the car, will definetly be going to check it out over the weekend

Haha yep very, thats the only thing making me have second thoughts, probably going to cost close to 3k a year just to own the car.

Looks clean. But for that price i think u can find a 9. Just my take. Plus u have to add up sales tax and license fees. I say dont rush and take your time

Hmm not in australia man, unless you want a thrased one that has about 150 000km on the clock haha, looking at around the 35k mark for a clean evo 9 here i believe, even more if it is heavily modded...trying to make 25k for my budget which i think is definetly achievable with an evo 8 mr, not so much with the 9's.
i mean i could wait it out and save more , but i sorta need a car asap and besides, is there realy much difference between the 8MR and 9? i dont see it as worth the extra 5-10 grand, not in my current financial situation anyway.
