nice! Our cars Can be really quick. If you get a chance, I highly recommend the FP HTA71. All I can say is "wow".

Is the HTA71 a stock frame turbo? Always wanted one as they aren't too expensive but I was going to wait on it as the Canadian dollar is weak as hell right now.

How long did it take you to install and if I was to look up step-by-step video which would you recommend? I have no gauges on my evo and I heard it's like playing with fire without a boost gauge. Cheers.

you just swap the cold side into your MHI housing. It's cheap and quick. and what a difference!

I just used the install kit with my stereo. Took half any hour I think. I put Autometer gauges where the stereo was.

In my opinion that is horrible advice. You will end up with a car that doesn't work efficiently and you will most likely be disappointed. Besides that, very few people actually "go bigger".
that being said, it really is hard to resist the urge to go nuts and throw on all the fancy stuff.

I advise all the new people, above and beyond all, be realistic of what you plan to do with the car and your budget, then build around that. You would be surprised how cheap it can be and what little you can get away with.
Thread should have ended here. This times a gazillion.

Some ideas...

^ My photos above:
1) Change your stock intake to an open one that allows more incoming air. Mine
is an HKS.
2) Sway bars help! Black is stock, blue is Cusco.
3) Orange rear one is ROBISPEC Adjustable.
4) Gauges are ALWAYS a good idea so you can monitor things, just in case. Mine
are easy to read digital AEM gauges (X6)
5) Chassis bushings to freshen-up your suspension.
6) Exhaust for better 'breathing'. Mine is a WORKS SS turbo back. It's a good idea
to do when you do an intake.

Good Luck! Where in NNJ are you? I'm near Paramus.

KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid lol Dont take this the wrong way.... but learn form others mistakes of going way overboard. Intake, TBE, 71HTA, cams, ECU controlled boost, few other minor supporting mods and just drive the car and enjoy it. If you want to do suspension you can keep it fairly basic and it will perform/look great and not cost you a huge amount.

The single biggest thing to remember and not loose sight of is MAINTENANCE. Not just oil changes and tires.... if you see a sway bar bushing getting sloppy, replace all of them.... if a ball joint is shot, replace all on that side if they all have the same mileage... be diligent with maintaining all the odd and end small stuff and use OEM parts or OEM quality and youll enjoy the car for a long time and it will be hassle free

Are you talking about my IX above? If so, those are the Original color of the Cusco complete chassis stiffining kit. I didn't paint them, that's how they came.
