Fellow Evo 8/9 owners, I'm going replace my FMIC soon as I currently have a punctured OEM one. My car runs but it acts funny and feels like I have a boost leak and I'm almost positive I do because of this issue.
My goal here is to stay lightweight and do so on a budget as that has been my goal all along with my Evo. A used stock clean FMIC can be had for about $100 and weighs around 10lbs-12lbs. The alternative would be the Greddy LS/ Blitz SE which I've had a hell of a time finding facts about. Some standout features these two FMIC's offer are Tube and Fin design which I prefer over the Bar and plate. The reason is the weight savings by going Tube and Fin has said to be a 50% or more weight savings over bar and plate design. I've read a fair amount about this and I still am sold on the Tube and Fin! With efforts in using the search feature I've read others ask questions I want to know and they never got a reply!
What is the weight of the Greddy LS for CT9A and Blitz SE for CT9A ? This has become a mystery when this question has been asked. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW MUCH THESE INTERCOOLERS WEIGH? I've even talked with BLITZ USA and the Rep said he had "NO CLUE". I've also sent emails to both Greddy USA and Blitz and have gotten no response. This has me concerned as neither can share such common info about their product. I've seen pics of both on the cars and they are very easy to install, but again no info about weight. The only mention is in advertisements when Blitz/Greddy advertising light weight. Is there any info on how much power these units are capable of?
