Ac problem

Ok I much rather just delete my ac. But I can't due to just having twins a little over 2 weeks ago. So i need to fix it. The ac works but once the compressor kicks off. It will not kick back on. System is charged. And if I let the car sit for 20 or 30 minutes and start the car and turn ac on it'll kick on till the compressor kicks off and that is when it wont kick back on.

What would the cause of this be? Bad compressor? Bad high pressure switch?

Might might need to shim the ac clutch and/or check if the system is overfilled.

Check the shim on the a/c compressor. Also replace the expansion valve

And where is this expansion valve located? And whats involved in shimming the clutch in the ac compressor?

Sorry I know nothing about ac systems.

Sounds like the compressor clutch is toast but maybe also have the refrigerant charge checked. Have the shop add dye so you can spot any leaks. If replacing the clutch be sure to shim it to the proper clearance. I personally don't like the idea of pulling shims out of a well worn clutch but I guess it works for some people.
