2006 Evo 9 Rs white rare?
All the differences that i can remember:
- No ABS
- No pwr mirrors
- No Radio No speakers
- No wing
- RS has rear lateral trunk bar
- RS has front LSD
- No rear wiper
- RS has alum roof just like MR
- Crank windows
- No sound deadening
- Trunk stripped
- No center console cubby
- 3 gauge cluster just like MR
- De-tuned trunk torsion spring
- Euro RS had Ti compressor wheel
- Thinner gauge rear trunk
- 60-80lbs lighter
- Thinner rear glass
- Elite, Intelligent owner base

And to clarify, we are talking about USDM Evo's here... Euro RS Evo's were so very different in regards to options. Many came with no Recaros, no A/C, no Brembos, steelies as wheels, etc. There were many option add-ons and option deletes available for the Euro RS's that makes them entirely different. I saw one FS not long ago that had no Recaros and factory power windows. Very different features vs USDM cars.
Anyway...
All 05-06 Evo's had front LSD, not just RS.
RS also had:
- No center console arm rest,
- Poverty-spec plastic e-brake handle,
- HVAC panel itself had a different finish for whatever reason vs all other models,
- No power locks (and all other Evo models came with keyless entry besides power locks),
- No map lights,
- Non-body color door handles or mirrors (Poverty-spec black plastic finish on these parts for RS),
- Entirely plastic ghetto-looking door panels, whereas the SSL had leather-trimmed door panels, and all other non-RS cars had suede-trimmed door panels.
- RS did not have different windshield, as someone said above.
- RS had a base Lancer wingless trunk - nothing thin gauge about it.
- RS did not have thinner rear glass.
- RS does have certain deluded fanatics that worship the model as though it is their god, making sure to mention their model to every newbie who posts, and there are even some RS extremists going so far as putting stickers on other non-Evo vehicles that they own with said stickers saying things such as "EVO RS9" and other stickers being pics of an Evo, etc. and this is all on their non-Evo vehicle(s).
^You are fine. Really, you are very helpful on here and I appreciate that.
I did remember the IX RS also:
- Doesn’t have the faux carbon fiber dash pieces like the other IX’s; instead the RS has the same gray dash trim that the 8’s had.
- Did not get the metal pedal covers like the other IX’s did; again, they had the same rubbery pedal covers that the 8’s came with.
- IIRC, all RS’s also had a unique aluminum shift knob, which was discontinued. I don’t know if they are still doing it, but they did at one point supply the superseded part numbers for what I believe was the Evo 7 shift knob and that’s what you got if you needed a replacement for your RS knob. It’s close at a glance, but definitely not the same knob.

Here’s that Euro IX RS I mentioned a few posts before. Get ready to drool at the condition and low miles! And check the sweet factory front seats!

The production number is very small, if you think about it. The Evo IX was arguably the best Evo made, and there were just 358 of the 'race' edition sold in North America. I consider the S2000 CR a good comparison on value over the 'base' model. By comparison, there were nearly twice as many S2000 CRs made (699 total), and the values on those are much, much higher than the base S2000. The IX RS, being much more rare than the S2000 CR, has nowhere to go but up.
