Question Strange Noises From Engine Bay

I'm hearing a few distinct sounds from the engine bay and need some experienced minds to help me solve it. I've posted a couple of videos below. All of the noises started occurring after I changed my timing/serpentine belts but of course this could just be coincidence. I'll try my best to describe it:
  1. This first noise sounds like a mix between a whistling noise, a gear sound, or a belt rubbing on something and it occurs whenever I'm revving or giving it throttle. I just had my timing belt replaced along with all of the other timing components (idler pully, tensioner, tensioner pulley) and I just had the serpentine belt replaced (I did not replace the serpentine tensioner pulley or any other parts that the serpentine belt touches). Could it be a loose hose or maybe the belts need to be adjusted?
  2. This second noise is similar to the noise in video #1 above except it occurs when I'm turning the steering wheel all the way to the left or right. The noise you hear is me hitting the end of the wheel a few times in a row.
  3. The third noise sounds like something rubbing/grinding on something and it only happens when I make a hard left turn. The sound is coming from somewhere around the right front side. I initially thought it could be the right wheel rubbing against the fender but it looks good after I checked it out and appears to not be rubbing up against anything. The noise is very soft so you'll need to turn up your speakers:
    • - full video
    • At the 0:08 mark you can hear the grinding noise as I am making a left turn
    • At the 0:11 mark disregard my comment - a biker was in the middle of the road as I was making my left turn.
    • At the 1:10 mark you can faintly hear the noises from video #1 above
    • At the 1:53 mark I was revving to replicate the noise from video #1 above
    • At the 2:12 mark you can hear the same grinding noise again as I am making another left turn.

I'll admit that my power steering fluid is very low and below the "low" indicator on the dipstick. I'm not sure if this is causing any of the noises above but I'll be purchasing power steering fluid to fill it back up soon.

LoL, you are a typical EvO owner. Im no diff. "Wait, what was that"?

Maybe its just due to the serpentine change? I say just run for a short bit & see how it transpires. Ever use one of the mechanic stethoscopes? Maybe worth a try?

Regarding the front end noise, i say lets start by removing the wheels & giving it all a good inspection. Make sure the dust shields are not rubbing the rotor. Sway bar connection is tight. No play in the drive shafts. CV boots all in tact, etc

In video 1 I heard something that sounded a bit like a vac leak tbh. I suppose it could also be one of the pulleys for the t-belt or serp that didn't get snugged properly? Did you do the work yourself?
In video 2 I didn't really hear anything other than the PS pump pumping.
In vid 3 I'm not sure I heard much of anything but these things are hard to produce in vid I know.

I would get that passenger wheel off and have a look. That wheel definitely comes off for the job and they may have bumped your brake dust shield or (I forgot to put my brake line clamp on once and it clipped into my wheel weights)...

If you didn't do the work yourself, I would suggest politely inquiring with the shop.

Lol yessir. I've owned my Evo for almost 10 years so I'm pretty familiar with the noises it's supposed to make. After the timing belt change was when I noticed other sounds like in the video. It's pretty annoying tbh. The grinding noise in the 2nd video and the noise in the 3rd video was actually due to a very very low PS fluid level. Once I filled it back up the noises went away. I'm still dealing with the noises in the first video which I suspect may be an unhooked hose somewhere.

The noises in vid 2 and 3 are very faint and you'd have to turn up your speakers or have headphones to hear them. They were resolved by adding more PS fluid. The level prior was very very low and after filling them they went away.

Vid 1 noises however are still occurring and as you suspected I had thought of some sort of unclamped or unhooked hose. I did check around the throttle area to check on any loose vacuum hoses but didn't spot any. The noises seem like they're coming from around the timing belts/serpentine belts area. Looked around here but didn't see anything of concern. I've only been looking from the top of the engine bay and not sure if it's worth jacking up the car and looking from the bottom. Any suggestions on where I can check on a loose vacuum hose?

Also, the idle RPMs stay pretty consistent at around 800 and don't flunctuate which I think would have been indicative of a vacuum leak (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Yeah saying it's a vac leak is just noise related. I'm betting that one of your pulleys is either too loose or too tight and thats what the noise is.

With the high likelihood of catastrophe IF it's something of that nature, I would for sure get it up in the air and see what's what. If that noise wasn't there before the timing belt, and it's there after the timing belt, then something got bumped or bodged.
