South Coast Mitsubishi Question
South Coast Mitsubishi Question
Hey guys, I've been out of the EVO game for several years now. I'm looking at a car at a dealership about an hour from South Coast Mitsubishi. Are they still a solid place to have a car looked at and serviced?
Edit: I'm in Nashville TN so i'm going to be doing it all through South Coast and hopefully a local guy who I can pay a few bucks to do a first pass on the car.

I'm not looking at a car they currently have, Looking at this one: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing
maybe getting it sent to them to have some service done before shipping it back across the country.

Maybe talk to a buddy of mine in Corona (neighboring city)...he has done most of the services on my IX
He was a tech at Massimo Power (MP) and recently opened up his own shop Mays Performance (MP).
His name is Aaron.

If you do speak to him let him know Ozzy sent you

Just my 2cents , not that it matters, but that’s a high price for one with that many miles. That is “Low mileage Evo IX price” territory these days. I paid less than that for my 78k 2006 Evo IX MR and it was the cleanest Evo I could find when I bought it. Just throwing that out there.

I definitely don't want to pay the MR premium either. I need a 5 speed, will swap out the suspension and the roof for me isn't worth having to swap the trans. I'm going to build another stroker with a stock frame turbo probably something just more than stock but not a green... I've been out for a while but FP use to offer a "+1" upgrade that was smaller than the green... no turbine housing if i remember right. I can't remember what it was called but torque is my priority and the 6 speed is the 6 speed.
I completely understand the difference between the MR, and the VIII and IX, I just don't need those things. I see your point about price too though. If I could find the perfect car for that price even not being a IX or MR i would jump. This doesn't look perfect but it's one of the few I've found that aren't already modded in the wrong direction for me.
Also, if my limited research is to be believed '05 VIIIs are more rare than IX's though not as desirable for reasons obvious to most but not of concern to me.

I went to check this car out in June. It has some pretty nice sized dents on the left hand passenger door. The headliner is pretty grimey too and the seats weren't that clean either. Brakes need replacing as well ASAP. I test drove it and they squealed pretty loud. Def not worth at the price they're offering. I drove 2.5 hours from Bakersfield to see it.
