I'm in south jersey, so most tuners are an hour or so away. It isn't a big deal, but if i'm doing the work installing parts myself, its a bit of a drive to limp the car. I might get a tune from a small local shop then re-tune at a bigger shop, like iveytune.

I second that Raif from RRT is a good guy!! Email him maybe he could send you a base tune so you could get your car there for him to tune, just a thought.

Jeff Evans!!! HANDS down best engine calibrator I have seen in my life. Nobody takes the time to properly set up a standalone system like he does or oem flashed ecu’s.

And most of these tuners don’t do a good job with throttle tip in and they like to stay rich and no ignition timing and then they disable your knock sensor or don’t even bother to calibrate your knock sensor, but then they want to charge 900 bucks for a tune.

I recently went to a shop here in Connecticut got some work done to my evolution 9 I asked for a conservative tune, and I really wasn’t impressed The installation was good but the tune kind of sucks and the way he set up the boost control It makes the boost come in really lazy and I don’t see 24 pounds until like 5000 RPMs on a FP green turbo. But then when you stab the throttle to rev the engine, it has this hesitation, kinda like a stumble.I know I asked for a conservative tune, but not like something that feels like limp mode.

But the one shop I would stay away from in Connecticut is a shop called performance and styles located in Manchester. They are by far the biggest crooks and scumbags I have ever seen in my life out of a JDM tuner shop. they blew two of my engines and left me with a $15,000 bill.

Brought the car to another shop called RRT here in CT.Raif saved my built motor in time before more damage was done. We yanked that motor out and ordered a stock engine from eBay. He installed it in the car and now everything is good. Still have issues
like the car randomly shuts off completely loses power then I’m having a starting issue where it starts perfectly fine but after you drive the car for a few hours, then it just doesn’t start and then when you cycle the key two or three times then it starts. Could be a bad fuel pump, a pump relay or an ignition module.
