I might be in need of a whole swap for an Evo VIII. Curious to see what the price trends have been for them. I have been following Honda swap prices over the past two decades and they all have increased over the past few years. I assume the sudden increase is due to the shutdown. Curious if that is the case of the 4G63T as well.

Also, what is a fair price I should expect to pay for a swap? Complete engine with accessories, trans, transfer case, and ECU.

prices from what I've seen:

Stock long block- $4k-$6k
Tcase: $1.2k-$3k
Trans: $1.5k-$5k

I am considering a 2005 roller. Looking for the best options to get it running. I am not a high HP kind of guy so I actually prefer close to stock as possible.

I own many other makes of cars. Never a Mitsubishi so I don't know what other 4G63s fit or the prices they fetch.

Also considering buying a wrecked one.

Just doing research right now.

Could fine a used block for around $2500 head for $1000
Trans $1500
Clutch $1000
Tcase $1500
Ecu $1500

 

A stock ecu is wayyy cheaper than that.

 

Why not a jdm engine and call it a day,
