Does Anyone Cut EVO 8 OEM Keys?

Hi all,

I bought an EVO 8 a few years back and it never came with original keys. All the Mitsu dealers in my area have closed, and I was looking to see if there is a company that can cut OEM keys. A few years back I had a Subaru with a similar issue and my local dealer was able to cut me brand new OEM keys with a key cutting machine they have in house where you don't need the original, or any key for that matter. The machine somehow had all the technical data on it and I simply had to verify that I was the owner and the correct VIN (Vehicle Registration). The OEM keys they ended up cutting for me, looked in no way similar to how the duplicate/off-brand key I had, which they did not even use in order to duplicate OEM keys.

Should be able to cut key based off VIN...assuming all your numbers and key barrels match. Not sure about FOB programming though.

Mine only came with 1 real key and then 1 generic metal key. The generic metal key unlocks everything, but if I use it to start the car, the car will shut off by itself within seconds. I'm guessing its because of the immobilizer. Is my only option to get another key at a dealership?
