If it weren't for this site I would not have been able to rebuild my car...and get it running!

The amount of buried knowlege here is endless. Just thinking about the amount of ECU mods we've had available to us is crazy. When I look into other cars its immediately standalone territory to do anything right.

Thank you indeed to everyone still contributing here. Social media good for the immediate "check me out" but nothing compared to real dialog and tech.

I was just thinking the other day how much it would suck if this forum were to be taken down. It's a goldmine of knowledge, tech tips and how-to guides, most of which can't be found anywhere else. I remember when this forum was so lively and thriving. It really is a shame to see how it died out in the last few years. We need to archive everything somehow.

Facebook (and all social media in my opinion) is garbage. I got rid of it years ago and couldn't be happier.

It would suck if this forum went down. However, its possible to back up a forum especially if someone had access to the server . I dont feel like saving .html backups of the entire forum though. Maybe I will write a script in python.

So I'd like to know, who actually hosts the platform that this forum is on? Is it a matter of flicking a switch off and we all go black?

Id like to say thank you as well to all of the regular contributors! (You know who you are).

I also own an RSX type S and cant tell you how many times ive looked for info on a particular issue with my car on honda forums and 9 of 10 threads either go into everyone calling each other noobs or simply nobody answered. The 1 of 10 MIGHT have some info. May or may not be valuable lol.

I dont even bother with facebook. Its a trolls paradise.

There are some very knowledgeable people on here, thanks for helping out!

I'd also thank people who inspire us to stick with the Evo, and provide us support and services in order to do so. Thank you!

Glad this forum is still around also. There's so much information in here that can be searched.

My hypothesis is that a lot of younger people grew up never using forums and instead having social media outlets shoved into their faces. Now that they're old enough to own and modify cars they naturally stuck to what they know.
Then you have the people that used to be on forums going the same way as them simply because they follow the herd to wherever the most activity is.
It's depressing to see some of the car forums I used back in the 2000s that were a hotbed of activity and information around the clock now barely having 3 or 4 threads bumped a day. I wasn't on EvoM back then (couldn't afford an Evo yet lol) but I've spent enough time using Search to make up for it.

Nothing compares to the amount of useful knowledge on this forum. Facebook is full of people that don't want to put any effort into anything and want the instant answer, but usually they're met with trolls or wildly inaccurate information. This forum has been invaluable to me over the years for diagnosing, and even choosing the "right" mods. I was pretty bummed when EvoM went down, but if this forum went down as well the community would most certainly be losing a huge asset.

I haven’t had fb in 20 years and don’t plan on getting it. Just got another Evo after 7 yrs and I’m surprised at how slow the forums are. I spent most of my days searching stuff on here back in the day.

I don’t post a lot, mostly lurk. I def reference this forum a lot on a weekly basis and even the same threads after I forget what I already read lol. “Why is it making this new noise” I have a 9 MR that I’m not planning on getting rid of any time soon, so I hope this forum stays around a long time!
