Question Evo 8 Door locking mechanism help

Hi all, thanks in advance for any help. I have recently replaced the attenuator for the door locking mechanism as the motor had died and no longer would be able to lock the driver's side door via remote. I have now come across an issue after putting everything back together that the locking mechanism no longer will disengage. The white tab is stuck, and you can barely move it with your hands.

I am quite confused what has happen to the mechanism considering I haven't pulled apart the part that hasn't worked. Any pointers would be awesome!

I can confirm the following:
Working:
Metal latch works fine if activating via hand
Motor side locks & unlocks while secondary piece isn't attached.
Interior door handle to open the door works (both attached & detached)

Not Working (*I am connecting all the rods to their original place*):
Door handle externally no longer works (worked previously prior to disassembly)
External key no longer works (worked previously prior to disassembly)

See following photo of the part that doesn't freely move as it should, it is somewhat stuck, and only if I apply enough force directly onto it would it move positions.

Just thought I would update this, resolved this all I had to do is make sure the latch was activated while setting it all up. Easy as once you look at how it all works.

I'm pleased to read you got it fixed. I did my driver's side door two years ago but luckily encountered no problem. I'm down to one working fob so one of these days that will be my problem.

No problems at all, hopefully this will come in handy for someone in the future.

I have run into another snag, the attenuator motor I purchased has reversed polarities to the OEM JDM one that came with the car. So, I will look at working out the wiring for the plug and de-pinning it, not my expertise but we will work with it, and I will update the forum what I did. Once I can get 30mins to sit down and work on the old girl.
