Why do you want to delete heater core?

Is there any benefit to delete your heater core (other then weight reduction reasons).

I heard its better for built cars to delete them, why is that?!

It's one less thing to fail on a race car, but it's not worth it if the car ever sees the street. It may also fail inspection if your area has them, as you lose your defrost.

I agree as well. It does remove another heat soak from the motor which may not be a good thing? No way to defrost if needed! Replacing it, is for sure, a PITA but no real benefit to deleting it unless you have a dedicated track car

The heater core isn't bad, its just capped and looped (not bad). I was confused on the logic of doing it or if there was a benefit!
