Are the battery tray studs removable/replaceable?

I'm switching to a small battery setup and both of my battery tray studs are rusted and broken. I'm thinking of trying to get a left hand drill bit and extractor to pull them out, but does anyone know if they're actually replaceable or not? Are they "studs" like an engine block head studs or are they welded in posts? I supposed worst case I can drill out larger hole and thread it, but I want to know if I should even waste my time with trying to replace the studs.

I'm going off memory here but I think they are welded on studs.

Side note, idk what you are doing for a small battery or what the car is used for but I hated my PC680 setup as to most people that run them. They don't hold up very well.
You'd be better served going to a small civic battery or something with a custom tray or relocating it to the trunk. I ended up with a relocation but you can do whatever.

They are welded in. The other two are bolts around the trans mount.

I bought the English Racing Miata battery tray. I'll see if I got a pic. It only attaches at both studs and doesn't use bolts at mounts. It just rests on top of motor mount frame rail bracket.

Gotcha, looks like I'll try drilling out the entire studs and tap new threads. The bolts on the trans mount are in good shape but aren't used for the small battery.

I bought the ETS kit. The car isn't dailyed (dailied?) anymore and I leave the battery unconnected when it's not driving, so not super worried about the battery.

I'd suggest a tender on the battery when not used. Those batteries aren't great.

I could, but the studs are broken off that I couldn't even get it past the bracket. Hopefully there is enough meat behind the studs to get a bolt to thread into it.

and how did it get rusted that bad??
Because Michigan. You should see the rest of the car 😬 That said these studs have been like this for YEARS, before I was better at removing rusted bolts/nuts.

Yea, I had a battery switch on mine and it still managed to be problematic. New, old, connected, disconnected. None of it seemed to matter lol. It felt like every time I went to start the damn thing it would be dead lol.

Those Odyssey batteries are straight garbage.

Removing corroded hardware safely is an acquired skill

I think batteries just dont like being shipped. frequent/careless removal/installation of battery terminals cause problems too. But yeah I dont want to pay for a PC680 anymore that has a 50/50 chance of being a good one I just use this now

I haven't. I relocated the battery to the trunk and haven't had a single issue since.

Powersports batteries are the way to go. Miata battery is AGM as well. It's that for a reduced size battery or anti-gravity.
