Question for gauge in lancer spot on cluster

I’ve seen all the how to threads and looked at the pictures that are still available to look at on the site. I got an innovate ECB-1 gauge today, has anyone installed this gauge in the lancer spot? Do I have to take the guts out or can the whole gauge minus the bezel fit in the spot?

I have never done this but seen a local guy do it. I believe he used the gauge minus the bezel on his setup.
With stuff like this, the only way to figure it out is to pull it out and start measuring stuff to figure out how to fit it in there.

I bought a spare cluster specifically to have one to modify and do this, however I never got to it. I still have the cluster if you want one to try.

He is talking about the gauge cluster, the circle that says "Lancer" cutting it out and replacing it with his innovate gauge.

Ah OK I didn't knew that you can fit a gauge that size in this spot

With custom fabrication skills you can manipulate physics and the existence of space-time to fit anything.

I’ve taken the gauge apart and since it’s a multi gauge setup. There’s tons of wiring and solder so I am a bit worried about messing up the wires on a $400 gauge lol.

Mine was an Evo IX with the ACD button, so it's 2006. I am an electrical engineering diagnostic tech for a major automotive OEM so I build my own stuff all the time.

one of my current projects: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...oject-3370482/
(yes I got rid of my Evo to buy an old CRV)

Thank you. I have a few other posts on the site, if you look for post by my username on that site. These days I spend all of my spare time working on projects like this- I do a LOT of custom circuit-board fabrication, 3d printing and stuff like that. I assume you saw my previous evo headlight and tail light projects right?

does the 06 work in a 03? Are the faceplates changeable since 03 doesn’t have ACD?
