I'm pretty sure that Xeon are HID's. but you only have to get the ballists and the bulbs and then add them to the stock headlight assembly. you can get this off the net.

It's xenon, not ZEON or XEON. Xenon is a chemical element, not an acronym. HID is an acronym (high intensity discharge), and HID lights are the same thing as xenon lights.

just get bulbs for 20 bux. and HID are NOT the same as Xenon. Xenon is the chemical that they seal inside the bulb and when it gets hot it gives off a blueish/white color and shines more than stock. HID's are totally different, while i think they may still have Xenon inside the bulbs, they use ballists to put out more power. HIDS will run you about 1000 for a pair.

Xenon's will be around 50 for a good pair. i say go with Xenon's, HID's just aren't worth it

A quick Google search (works wonders ) turned up...

http://impactparts.com/hiper1.htm

Not sure what bulb to get since the Lancer isn't listed on their application chart.

And you're right Smoktout, HID lights (which do use xenon but work differently) are different than Xenon bulbs. Namely, HID lights do something functional, Xenon bulbs just scream "rice", IMO. To each his own.

Cheap bulbs.

I've tried a plethora of those so called HID look bulbs, everything from cheap $15 no name brand up to $80 PIAA's and I'd have to say they all suck. They're usually dimmer then the stock bulbs and they don't look look HID's at all. I think now I can tell a car that has them from a real system at night almost with out fail, and that's before I can see if its a luxury car or not. If you really want better performance, save up and get an HID system, they're 500-1000, I'd not waste any time and money fooling with the purple and blue bulbs unless that's all you care about is the look.
