I, in fact would like to provide a different view on some of the comments above.

In my case, I chose to go primarily with one tuner. I believe that there is added value in the sum of any given tuner's parts. Ie. my guess is that although any free flowing exhaust would work with Xflash etc, it probably works optimally with Shiv's signature exhausts. I have a full time job, and it isn't tuning evo's. it actually makes a lot of sense going with one tuner - any of the tuners - buschur, works, vishnu spend a hell of a lot more time making their cars work well than I do. They are experts. I rely on their (Works, in my case) expertese. I dont think that mixing and matching will improve on the work they've already done. Could make things worse though.

I agree, there is little data to compare tuners in a side by side fashion. Thats unfortunate. Its also why polls like this come up - so that peple can at least learn about the experiences of others and try to make an educated decision.

As far as the hangover goes, take a couple of asprin and drink 2 glasses of water before you go to bed next time. It'll help you feel better in the am.

to the original poster: I went with Works and am very happy. You cant go wrong with any of the tuners you mentioned though.
You miss much of my point. It's just fine if your research points you to one vendor, but do the research. A poll doesn't get you much other than running a popularity contest. Often the opinions are not based on comparisons, but just a good experience with one product.

Instead of a poll, search and read. Ton's of good info out on this site. Use it, instead of asking to be spoon fed.

I don't have 1st hand experience with the venders you listed, but the only potential downside to Buschur is that he's not really big on hand-holding. He expects his coustomers to know what they are doing. In his defence, for the most part they do. I hear many of their products do not come with detailed instructions. If you can install an MBC by yourself I'd suggest Buschur. If you need sombody to show you how to do it, you may want to check with the other venders to see how much instruction they are willing to give you for your money.

I personaly like Buschur's style. He loves tuning so much he made a buisness out of it. For some reason I trust that more than someone who saw an opertunity to make some money and simply jumped into it. Buschur also has a tendincy to tell it like it is, even if you don't like what you are hearing. I also find this a bit more trustworthy than some of the others who will sell you whatever you want regardless if it works or not.

Actually, Jimmyv65, I agree that a poll isnt the best data source out there. I guess a double blinded, randomized prospective study would be the gold standard. Unfortunately, such data isn't availible for our evos. There really aren't many useful side by side comparisons either. I also agree that the more research done the better.

My point was that you didn't have to slam the guy just for asking a question, or for asking a question in a format you dont like.

I didn't realize AMS is so close to me! I'll have to drive over there and see if they would be a good choice.

I've used Buschur in the past, but they seem to be having issues with their current turbo kits. They've also been MIA on this board for quite some time.

There's no reason to pick a certain vendor for all your parts.

I would sugg. AMS, HKS, Helix and Greddy. AMS and Helix would be the first 2 because they are cheaper than HKS and Greddy.
