short shifter & bushings a must!

Hi everyone just wanted people to know that installing a short shifter and the bushings is a must do for your evo!. I got the new B&M adjustable shifter (15% or 45% reduction) which comes with the 4 shifter console bushings and the lever can also be adjusted slight left, forward or slightly right... personally i have mine 45% reduction slightly adjusted to the left. I also got a set of 2-peice shifter cable bushings.. the throw is really short and with teh cable bushings the shifts feel much more precise.. even if you dont decide to get a short shifter everyone should try out the 2pc shifter cable bushings!
I got all of this from Niko at www.a-spectuning.com definately great service before and after the sale..

I have to agree.. I've jammed my stock shifter twice and definitely can see the merits of the upgrades (I have the parts already).. Especially the bushing upgrade. Its good stuff..

In my opinion, the under the hood bushings make a BIG difference, but.....The 8 pc set for the shifter mount thing really won't make any difference in shift feel.

To anyone considering a short shifter... don't get scared by the price tag of the NEW B&M. It is worth the extra $50+-. BEST investment I have made AND make sure you get the underhood bushings from the boys at LancerShop.com.

Make sure the Part # you are getting is B&M 45186, NOT B&M 45100.

I actually chose the non-adjustable one.. not the adjustable one, thats where the price difference comes in.. I certainly don't plan on adjusting it.. I got the B&M Nonadjustable..

I just installed the non-adjustable B&M and the brass shift mount bushings. IMO the shift feel improved by 15%, I think mostly due to the bushings.

I would have installed the under hood bushings too except lancershop.com sent me the DSM ones by mistake. They are switching them of course with no problem.

Hopefully this will make the shifts feel like my old S2000, that car had a fantanstic shift mechanism.

But I would say this is worth doing, especially if you need or appreciate faster and cleaner shifts.

I also thought this was the case.
