On my lunch break today I went to check out the BMW club day at Portland International Raceway. Unfortunately, they were all on lunch break too so I didn't see any action. However, one thing that caught my eye was a Red EVO 6.5 TME sitting there in the parking lot! It was LHD with a dealer plate. If anyone hasn't seen one in person, it's gorgeous in it's own ugly way, and I wouldn't mind having one. I really like how exposed the FMIC is. I don't think it's any bigger than ours, but it sure looks like it is because it's so exposed. Anyone know anything about that car?

 

That would have been a good one to get a picture of. I wonder what market they made an LHD version for?

 

Yeah I wish I had a camera for that one. I believe all EVO models are available in LHD in limited quantities because of the various motorsports requirements in LHD countries.
EDIT: The RS models anyway, dunno about the GSR models because not many people would buy a GSR model for racing.

 

My friend has a TME in Boca/Coconut Creek Area.... i have pictures w/ my red evo.... ill postem but i dont have anywhere to put them

 

The EVO VIII and the EVO 6.5 are pretty much the same mechanically from the factory. Now being the TME version, I am sure there is more power and torque and some other gadgets...hopefully lemacfar will post pics of his friend's soon!

next time, write your screen name down on paper[with a little message about you inquiring on the car], fold it up so its not HUGE, but viewable, then stick it under his wiper, maybe he'll IM you......then you'd be able to ask him all about it.
