Yeah, I'm new to the whole car buying thing.

I'm going to try and work the price down when I bring the WRX in to trade. I'm still waiting on the final list of Evos I have to choose from...

Newbie in car buying...

You shouldn't really worry about the trade and you shouldn't really worry about the price of the car. I mean you should get it down, but if it's not in thousands, it's only gonna be couple of $ more a month.

Now, what you don't wanna get screwed over in is the financing. Make sure you read everything they tell you to sign.

The current market value for new car financing is 4.95% and used is 5.45%.

if they give you anything higher than that, leave and goto a credit union. Then get a loan from them.

You have to do the whole, monthly payment thing before you get caught in the price thing.

BTW, the dealers can always raise the trade off price. Since they make enough money on Volume selling, dealer incentive from the Manufacture ect.

Dealer Invoice is always lower than the invoice they show you. about $1000 or more.

I bought my evo for 27.2K w/ strut bars (front and rear) sport pedals and gauges and big wing w/ APR of 3.52 for 60 months just shop around you CAN GET A BETTER DEAL!!!! As for the WRX first work on the price of the evo then go back and tell them to match it (most of the time this will work)

Alrighty, I'll be going back there tomorrow most likely, so I'll see what I can do.

The only reason the trade in price is so nice is because I won't be upside down on the WRX loan.

And I'll try and get as low an APR as possible (thanks for giving me an upper limit of 4.95!)

Again, thanks all!

that is actually a bit low for your wrx, people are getting 17.5 to 18 or a little more. And I would go to another dealer and do some haggling.

well if you KNOW your WRX isnt worth that much but they are offering you 16.5k... then there must be a reason, yes?

The book value on an 02 with 46,000 on the clock was right around the low 14's IIRC (I checked KBB the other day).

But yes, I'm starting to get in touch with other dealers. I'm going to see if I can get a better deal.
