The End Of Mitsu As We Know It?
The End Of Mitsu As We Know It?
This was the headline in the July issue of Motor Trend magazine page 35.
Since Chrysler owns 37% of Mitsu, they were planing to spend $7.5 billion to increase the stake in Mitsu to 50% to the struggling Japanese automaker. That plan was rejected by Chryslers supervisory board.
Cheif executive officer of Mitsubishi Motors North America, said the company will stay its course. The plan was to give up discount pricing and easy credit in favor of building desirability for its models.. In other words, quality over volume. Mitsubishi will be busy just struggling to survive.
I just typed the highlights in the article ( sorry no scanner )
Is this really the end of Mitsu here in the States? Will there be a 2005 Evo since they have a hard time selling 5000 evos for a year and a half ? even pricing it below invoice. I don't know for sure but I'm glad I got my Evo before they stop production here in the States. I don't want to see another supercar from Japan die here because the company is going under.
Yeah, some company might buy it out but you think they have interest in keeping the slow selling Evo here? I hope they do. I really want to see an Evo XX evolve here in American soil.
Please Mitsu don't take away our EVO!!
