A brief introduction
Hey all - just wanted to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves. My name is Adam and our shop is Z-1 Performance, located in Deer Park (Long Island) New York. We are a tuning shop for various import makes/models, with a particular emphasis on turbocharged all wheel drive vehicles.
Our main focus for the past several years has been Subaru's. Some of you might recognize the shops name or my name from the Subaru world if you follow it at all. My "old" car was a '99 2.5 RS that we turbocharged, and it went on to be among the quickest daily drivers in the country. After a while, I elected to swap in a JDM STi drivetrain and some other goodies, and the car now proudly runs high 11's in the 1.4 mile, on pump gas, yet remains a daily driver (though not driven by myself anymore, as I sadly sold the car about 1.5 years ago).
In any event, we are also heavily involved in Mitsubishi's and have several customers in this country and abroad with various Evo's. In addition, both my business partner (Mike) and myself own Mitsubishi turbos (he an Eclipse GS Turbo Sypder, myself a Galant VR4) both heavily modded and daily driven cars, so we have intimate knowledge on what it takes to make a 4G63 motor run strong and reliably, and more importantly, what to look for when it doesn't behave as we hope!
Of particular interest to Evolution owners from the US and abroad, is the fact that we regularly import from Japan (usually 2-3 shipments per month) and feature all the top brands. We are direct dealers and/or distributors for many of these firms, meaning we can bring you the best Japan has to offer, without the long wait times usually associated with bringing specialty parts in from other countries. Listed below is a brief list of the firms we feature, and we are constantly on the lookout for quality parts from Japan and elsewhere that not only perform as expected, but have the quality to match. As such, you will not find Alteza tail lights and neon kits at our shop. What you will find are the best parts for engine, suspension, interior and exterior from such top brands as Ralliart, Mine's, Monster Sport, Volk, Advan, Work, Prodrive, Buddy Club, Sparco, SSR, Tein, JIC, Cusco, HKS, Apex'i, GReddy, Tomei, Bride, Garage HRS, Phoenix Power, L'aunsport, Power Enterprise, G-Force and others.
Other brands we feature include Brembo, AP Racing, Bozz Speed, Hella, PIAA, Catz, McCulloch HID kits, Raybrig, SARD, Pivot, Stack, Recaro, Willans and many many others.
Our Evo section will be online shortly, so stay tuned and if there are any parts you would like to see, or questions you would like answered, feel free to contact as at:

That would be awesome if, along with fabricating your own parts as you see fit, you import from the top Jap tuners like Bozz Speed, Monster Sports, and Mines. I don't know about anyone else, but when the Evo comes, that will be the kind of stuff I'll be looking for. All I can say is awesome!!!

We deal with JUN and many others as well!
In fact, there are literally tons of firms that we deal with that cater to the Evo's, or have Evo parts in their stable.
In addition, we feature many of our own parts, such as a stainless steel exhaust manifold for All Evos, including the 1-3 (which will also fit on an T/E/L and GVR4), as well as the Evo 4-7.
Then there are turbo back exhausts, 02 housings, upgraded turbo kits from HKS, GReddy and Power Enterprise, etc.
This weekend we will have the Ralliart and Power Enterprise (PE) parts online, and from there, we will be udating regularly. In addition, we subscribe to all the monthly Japanese magazines such as Option and Option 2, Carboy, RevSpeed, as well as Lancer Evo Magazine, so if there is something you want but not sure where to find it, just let us know. We can usually get back to you within 24-48 hours with price and availability.
What I have found is that JUN USA's parts are not often in stock at least for the cars we cater to (Mitsubishi and Subaru's), but hopefully that will be changing as the STi model and Evo hit the shores...I think most of that lies in the fact that the Honda stuff is still the bulk of their business, so understandably, that is what they maintain stock levels of. The other thing is that their parts tend be be a bit on the high side when compared with other Japaense firms.

I hear what you are sayin on the "94" motor, but I think what you'll find is once the Evo version is here, the standard Lancer simply will become obsolete. Not that we want to ignore it completely, it is just that we currently do not know anyone personally with the car, so its a bit hard to test fit, etc. different parts.
However, we can get general parts such as the carbon hoods, rear wings, etc. for that model, as well as Tein suspension, JIC suspension, and of course, all the Ralliart gear you can handle!

cool, well the majority of people on this forum drive the standard Lancer, and unless Mitsu decides differently I think it will be here for some time. It's simply a different car than the EVO, different price range, different buying bracket. Think Honda Civic with class, the people that bought it are starved for parts, your attitude is very similar to most other people in the tuning business and the only ones who care have had their shops blown up by the folks in the "standard" Lancer. Ask Rob Tallini.
P.S. There have been two model years already and still no U.S. Evo.

Well, we are certainly not opposed at all to learning a new car...in fact, we welcome it.
I agree it's a different car for a different market....very different for example than a 2.5 RS vs WRX, which has a negliable price difference when it comes down to it all ($3500 or so)
In any event, we are happy to get you any and everything you want...just let us know!
And is there are any local owners who want stuff, or even someone who would not mind stopping down so we can look over the car (I have never seen one up close), we would welcome it!

Ok everyone knows that the evolution is awesome and everyone also knows the price difference between that and the US lancer...By the time u start selling parts to EVO owners in the US, you could have already sold 100s of parts to alll of the US lancer owners on here who are always spending money....I live in PA and NY isn't that far away. I couldn't be a test rabbit for it though, Im in school and i need my car daily
but you should really consider making parts for the US lancer

Well, I will personally start looking into parts today.
The fabrication side takes some time, but we can get there eventually.
For now, let me start talking with the manufacturers we already deal with and see if we can't get some goodies for you NA guys!
And if you are curious at the caliber of car we turn out, or what our customers are into, just check out our Gallery section.....
