Could that be because the WRC is a Lancer and not an Evo? You can't compare our cars to the WRC Lancer because they are totally different. Again, it's a Lancer, not an Evo. Now, back to the topic....

I would like for you to explain to me why the car is named the Evolution, because that would be funny.

Why did the Evo 6 stop winning races and championships? Hmmm, could it be that the FIA introduced a new WRC class that the Evo didn't fit into due to limited production rules according to homologation? What class is the new Lancer in? WRC, of course. The Evo is still not elligible for the WRC class. Why are the headlights different? The trunk? The hood? The tail lights? The bumpers? The engine? the rear spoiler? Because it isn't an Evo, that's why. It's a Lancer.
I am attaching a picture of an Evo 8 rally car. Please tell me how this car resembles the WRC car in any way, shape, or form.

I want to know where to get some ralliart mudflaps. I live in Colorado, and I have a bra for the same reason I need mudflaps: they don't salt the roads here, they put down gravel everywhere on every highway, and right now Denver is being repaved, to say the least.
To say that the EVO is not that WRC car because it is not a lancer is one of the most odd things I have read on this board....my rear nameplate on my car says lancer evolution...it's not an EVO, it's a lancer EVO....ever watch a WRC event and see the drivers open the doors and get in and out? These cars ARE rally cars, check the group N rules, mods are pretty much limited to ECU, suspension, gagues, tranny, wheels, tires, and safety equipment and lighting. In fact, group N must use a boost restricted compressor housing. I happen to own a Lancer Evolution RALLY SPEC.

I'm interested in a set... I live in PA, which has the ****tiest roads in the nation, maybe the world... and they're always patching holes here and there, tearing off asphalt here and there, and all i hear are those horrible noises of junk hitting the side skirts and stuff... plus, i get to deal with salt and cynders in the winter to add insult to injury... but, i also have some nice and flat silts here too... Congrats, you can use Google. RS stands for Rallye Sport. Evo is called because of the different versions that were entered in class A. The current WRC, again, is not an Evo, it's a Lancer. Go look at the scoreboard for Argentina and tell me if it's listed as a Lancer on an Evo.

Mitsubishi doesn't own the Patent on that name.
What Differnece does it make anyway, if your going to call it something then lets call it what it is, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO or better still lets call it the Mitsubishi Cedia EVO, or even better lets call it the Mitsubishi Mirage EVO, or what about the Carissma EVO.
They are all the same car, just different parts of the world
